Selfies

We did a six hour round car trip to the outskirts of Bath yesterday.
The reason?
So the Madwoman could get her ginger horse to do selfies.

Kiss my nose!
And give me that carrot!
I think you'll agree that the selfies were a
bit of a waste of time.
Flash just has not mastered the art of it like we have.
Working up a pre-lunch appetite.
And getting photobombed by Tilley Farm
But we did get a quick walk up the track, plus a picnic lunch and to
say hello to our doggodmother Sarah Fisher,
so possibly not a complete waste of time.
Although we could wish that Bath was a bit closer.

Exhausted by all that driving.
Time for a short nap.

Busy, busy, busy!

It has been a busy week for us so far.

By Wednesday we were already having to snatch dognaps wherever we could.

See? We told you it was an enormous schnozzle
On Sunday we went to Bath to visit the Madwoman's horse.
He has a huge nose and ate all the carrots which we thought the Madwoman had packed as snacks for us. We're partial to a crunchy carrot. Or two.
Three is even better if a rare occurrence.

While there we checked out the Dog Friendly Garden.
Archie snooped around and chased a few tennis balls (as usual, the Madwoman hadn't packed his favourite ones - all tennis balls are equal, but some are more equal than others.)
You can read more about this over at the website HERE

Angel sulked for a bit as she wasn't allowed off the leash in case she squeezed through the gaps at the gate which she discovered. Our doggodmother Sarah Fisher wasn't there so we posed for a picture instead with Auntie Mags before having some (carrot free) lunch and heading home again.
Angel discovered this dustbin lid tethered to the fence.
Personally we prefer free range dustbins
Posing with nice Aunty Mags.
On Monday after we had done zoomies we pottered in the garden and supervised the Madwoman, who is trying to sort out our Grandma's borders. Important job, supervising. If we didn't keep the Madwoman's nose to the grindstone she'd be lolling around in the sun, getting nothing  done at all.

Seen one bluebell, you've seen them all.
Trust us on this.
On Tuesday it was off to the Chiltern Open Air Museum, where they were busy making Easter eggs out of wool, and to check on the progress of the bluebells.

On Wednesday we did zoomies in the paddocks and thought we were heading home for elevenses when the Madwoman unexpectedly took a detour and we found ourselves in the carpark at the vet's. We breathed a sigh of relief when it turned out we were only there to pick up Angel's meds and to have our monthly weigh-in.

Today, we're expecting yet more action in the shape of a visit from our Aunty Lisa Page. She says she is going to bring home-grown eggs - real ones you can eat rather than made out of wool. We like eggs. And our Aunty Lisa.

A Day Out

We went for a day out at Bath today.
No one ever actually bothers asking us if we want to go to these places,
we just get our bags packed up and are plonked in the car.
But we always like going to Tilley Farm to see our
god-dog mother Sarah Fisher. She refused to pose for a picture with us today,
so here's one of her taken on another occasion instead,
being exercised by the Madwoman's horse.

We can't say we really blame her, given the Madwoman's continuing incompetence
with a camera.
Here's one she took today of her horse Flash, for example:

Apparently he is the most handsome horse in the world, but you'd never guess
it from this picture. Now compare it with the one above it, taken by a proper photographer, Bob Atkins, and you can understand why Sarah was so reluctant to have
the camera pointed in her direction.
Mind you, all horses look pretty much the same to us, so we
have to take the Madwoman's word for it.

And here is a picture of us with Auntie Robyn Hood.
We like Auntie Robyn. She did a lovely TTouch bodywork session with us once
that we still remember fondly.
Mmmmm. More please ...

Tie a yellow ribbon ...

The Madwoman appears to be getting ready for May Day.
When we went to Tilley Farm recently our DogGodmother Sarah Fisher presented us with a length of special Yellow Dog Project ribbon to add to the frayed strands
already attached to our leads.
We feel that maybe the Madwoman has gone a little overboard with it ... we now have more bits of yellow ribbon attached than a May Pole. Maybe we should try and get into the spirit of the thing and try skipping and dancing around her legs next time we go out ...

If you want to find out what all the yellow ribbons are really for, visit:

We go visiting ...

We went to visit The Madwoman's horse yesterday. We also caught up with our DogGodmother, Sarah Fisher. The Madwoman insisted on pinning her in a corner where she couldn't escape until she'd had her picture taken with us.

Okay, we're bored now. Can we go?

So if Sarah is our Dog-Godmother, does that mean that Tony Head is The Godfather?

Eye, eye

Recovering after a visit to the vet.

It's been a busy couple of days for us.

On Monday morning we helped rescue a Bulldog that was wandering around in the middle of the road as we were on our way home from our walk. Or at least the Madwoman rescued him while we sat in the car and barked at him, to make sure he knew she belonged to us and that he certainly wasn't coming home with us. Anyway, we don't get enough food as it is with this diet we're on, let alone enough to share it.

As she was struggling to hang onto him with one hand and read his ID discs and ring his owners with the other, a kindly dustbin man stopped and gave her a bit of rope to serve as a lead. Then he kindly read off the phone number while the Madwoman dialled it into her mobile. Turned out he'd read out the vets number instead of the owners, so a certain amount of confusion ensued as the Madwoman enquired whether they were missing a dog and could they please come and collect it. We helped by barking a bit more.

Eventually the right number was dialled and the Bulldog was duly led off. We were about to settle down for a nap when our god mother called in. The Madwoman tells us she is a Famous Person. We just call her the Godmother. Although she's quite good about dishing out the treats, so maybe we should really call her Treatswoman.

The Godmother aka Sarah Fisher

Yesterday was fairly uneventful but today when we got in from our walk the Madwman noticed that Archie was squinting a bit with his right eye. So no sooner had we got our walking kit off and were hovering expectantly near our food bowls for a bit of grub than the kit went straight back on, we were dragged away from our empty bowls and made to go to the vet.

Archie has a bit of ulceration in his eye. So some ointment for his eye, but no pointy needles thank goodness.

No extra treats either we've noticed.
