Easter parade

The Chiltern Open Air Museum is officially open again this weekend. Too much to hope that the Madwoman would take us on an Easter Egg Hunt: a village of tents has sprung up on the village green so it looks like we are instead to receive another lesson in History - otherwise known as Yet More Ways to Die Horribly ...
The American Civil War has arrived in sunny Bucks, and it seems that you are never too old to get signed up for wars ...

... or too young either. We learned that the age range in the two armies went from 8 years to 80.
We received admiring glances from some parading soldiers ...

Would we like to sign up?
Not really, no thanks ...
That's it, off you go lads. Try not to be too disappointed.
This is more our sort of thing - an unattended cooking pot! Unfortunately we forgot to bring along our oven gloves. Foiled again.

A bit parky

We didn't want you to think that just because we prefer
to stay warm and dry that we are wussies.
So we thought we'd show you some pictures of us being intrepid
and freezing our paws off in the snow.

Here we are, checking to make sure that the voles
are all tucked up nice and warm in their burrows.
We are very considerate like that.

And here is Angel, keeping warm wippitt-style.
Zooooooooooooooom ....

Right. Enough of that.
We're off home now for a foot spa.

New toys please

It's been ages since the Madwoman bought us any new toys.
So we've had to improvise with her slipper boot thingys.
They don't squeak, but they are furry and when Archie
runs round the house with one clamped between his jaws,
the Madwoman even joins into the spirit of the thing and chases round after us.

But is it art?

They have been busy up at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, thatching roofs, laying hedges ... and playing around with bits of chopped up tree ...
Can you tell what it is yet?
Try looking at it from a different angle ...
Yes! A wippitt obviously!
Although it could do with a longer tail perhaps ...
Maybe someone could chop another tree down if they have time?

It's raining again today.
So guess what we have planned?
The Madwoman thinks we will be putting on raincoats and going out later.
We're quite comfortable thank you (and dry)
So we don't think so ...

Where's my bunny?

Where's my bunny?

Have you seen my bunny?

That's not my bunny, that's my skunk!

Where's my bunny?

Although it's not yet quite warm enough to get rid of our winter jackets completely,
today the sun was out, and after the recent Arctic temperatures it felt positively balmy and our spirits were lifted.
Definitely something to smile about!
