Another eventful week

It has been another eventful week: after getting her stitches out Angel decided to celebrate
by having a mad five minutes doing high speed laps of the garden.
She returned indoors with a big grin and a squashy lump on her shoulder.
Which meant returning to the vets and getting needles stuck in the lump to
siphon off most of the fluid.
She is supposed to be resting, but we went for a short lead walk up at the
Open Air Museum,
working on the principle that if the Madwoman doesn't take us out at all, then we'll
probably do more damage entertaining ourselves by having races up and down
the stairs and hurdling the sofa.
We found that someone had created some very neat mini haystacks in the cherry orchard.
Angel carefully checked them out before declaring them a safe vole-free zone.

And then had a roll around on the grass while the Madwoman screeched ineffectively about not damaging anything else wriggling around in her harness ...

A bit parky

We didn't want you to think that just because we prefer
to stay warm and dry that we are wussies.
So we thought we'd show you some pictures of us being intrepid
and freezing our paws off in the snow.

Here we are, checking to make sure that the voles
are all tucked up nice and warm in their burrows.
We are very considerate like that.

And here is Angel, keeping warm wippitt-style.
Zooooooooooooooom ....

Right. Enough of that.
We're off home now for a foot spa.

Fun in the sun

At last! We knew it was on its way when we found snowdrops and even a cowslip at the end of the garden, while the pussy willow is busting out all over. But Spring seems to have finally sprung and the sun came out. Still a little bit too brisk to shed our coats, but at least there were a few rays to frolic in.

Angel checks for any sunbathing voles

Archie ran round with his squeaky tennis ball.

And a good time was had by all!

Voley-vous un vole-au-vent?

Archie and Angel are busy napping at the moment after a busy morning. Napping is one of the things they excel at. They're also pretty good at unstuffing Kongs, barking at the postman and modelling designer jackets during the colder months of the year.

Today they went vole hunting, which is why they are now catching up on their beauty sleep. Vole hunting demands great concentration. It's better when Archie is chasing balls: he's no good at the silent, stealthy approach that Angel is so good at. Not that she has much success normally. But it's like journeys - it's the journey, not the arrival that's the interesting bit.
