A Blank Holiday

We didn't post at the weekend because it was a Bank Holiday.
Because we don't actually have a bank account of our own we thought we'd
celebrate it by having a Blank Holiday instead and not blogging.

We did get out to Chiltern Open Air Museum for our usual  weekend stroll though.
We hadn't gone far when we found this horse poo.
Normally the Madwoman gets very excited when we do poos, carefully gathering them up
in plastic bags. After all that effort she doesn't even take it home to sniff at later, but stuffs it in a red bin. Beats us. She wasn't at all interested in scooping this one up though.
Maybe she didn't have a bag big enough ...

We thought this was very interesting though.
Unfortunately we missed the bit where they scattered the heavy horse seeds and
missed seeing them grow altogether, but we did get to see a fully grown one,
so it's obviously a successful scheme.
And less scary than the skeletons from dragon's teeth ...

Proof that growing your own heavy horse is easy.
Although stopping it looks more difficult ...

And on Sunday we caught up on our zzzzzzs ....

Curiouser and curiouser

There are Heavy Horses at Chiltern Open Air Museum this weekend.
In these days of political correctness,
shouldn't they be called 'Weight Challenged ' or something?

We were too early to see any, but did find this notice.
Doesn't look like a particular dangerous or ferocious field.
Just shows you never can tell.
Hope someone tells the Fat - sorrry - the Weight Challenged Horses.

Chiltern Extreme Whippets

Up at Chiltern Open Air Museum yesterday to see the heavy horses ...
We assume the term 'heavy horses' is just a polite way of calling them fat.
Seems like a tough way of burning off calories, having to drag humans along behind you.
Or maybe they couldn't afford a motorboat and waterskis.
Or just can't swim.

Mind you, we know all about having to tow humans along ...
we took the Madwoman along the course for the Chiltern Extreme Warrior event which
had been held there the day before.

Are you sure it's right and not straight on?

Obviously a Woozle trap:
everyone knows that if you want to catch a Heffalump
you have to dig a pit for it to fall into.

A pond had been made.
Not having brought our wellies with us,
we went round the edge instead.

Yes, we think we can find our way from here!
Chiltern Extreme Whippets, that's us!
And now, we think that refreshments are in order ...
