Spring!

We found primroses out while walking round the Chiltern Open Air Museum today.
So despite the grey sky and chilly temperatures, it must be Spring then!

Drink to me only with thine eyes ...

As it was time for our annual health check,
we had to go see the vet about a needle this morning.
He looked at Angel and said what beautiful eyes she had.
Sometimes vets say the nicest things ...

Fun in the sun

At last! We knew it was on its way when we found snowdrops and even a cowslip at the end of the garden, while the pussy willow is busting out all over. But Spring seems to have finally sprung and the sun came out. Still a little bit too brisk to shed our coats, but at least there were a few rays to frolic in.

Angel checks for any sunbathing voles

Archie ran round with his squeaky tennis ball.

And a good time was had by all!

More white stuff

It snowed AGAIN!
We heard that it's important to consume enough calories in cold weather, so Angel checked under the bird feeder for fallen grub ...

No food so Angel kept warm by taking her stuffed bunny
for a rrraaaaarrrrrr round the garden instead
Archie showed that wippitts can be just as good as any St. Bernard by rescuing his stuffed rat from a snowdrift ...
... and bringing it indoors to warm up.

We're now thawing out next to the radiator while waiting for
the Madwoman to serve elevenses.
She's actually cooked us some roast turkey and has promised games
later since we're snowbound and can only go running in the garden!

Singing in the snow

Snowflakes keep falling on our heads
But we're not complaining, 'cos we're going back to our beds,
Snow is not for us,
We'll keep snoozing 'till the weather's more amusing,
Because we're wippitts
Snow's not bothering us ....

How things work

As the Madwoman has been so riveted to Professor Brian Cox's version of
how things work on Sunday evening  TV, we decided to do a bit
of investigation ourselves.
All strictly in the spirit of scientific discovery you understand.
This is Archie taking a stuffed duck apart to find out what makes it honk.
We'll let you know when we've found out.
