Off to the Chiltern Open Air Museum, who are running a series of dog walking weekends throughout November.
We paused briefly to cheer on the Iron Age volunteers who were busy putting a new hat on the Iron Age house. They seemed to be having trouble with the Iron Age tape measure - obviously been spoilt by new fangled technology.
It was a good reminder that it's not just about putting up these buildings though - maintaining them takes quite a bit of effort too. We found it exhausting enough just watching so went home early for a reviving nap.

Iron Age hut and electicity pylon in the same picture!
Funny you should mention that, but we believe that it is an experimental Iron Age pylon!
Here's hoping they were better at spelling "electricity" in the Iron Age than it would appear I am!
We don't think they'd invented spelling in those days, so yours is entirely in keeping with the period, just like the authentic experimental pylon!
