Trailblazing

We thought we'd put our orienteering skills to the test the other day.

We tried to find North by looking at the moss on the trees.

We have been told that it grows on the North side of their trunks.

OK, moss.
So this side of this tree must be North.

And this side.

And this side ...

In the end we decided it was easier just to follow the signposts.
