Sleuthing

We did a bit of detectiving during our walk
yesterday at the Chiltern Open Air Museum.
When we came across this (and a rope ladder that the Madwoman said
took her right back to the dreaded PE classes at school)

No, we will not be getting our feet wet.
we knew straight away that either it was a new activity playground
being set up for the wildlife, or - more likely -
those mad runners doing the
run were expected at the weekend.

Suncatchers

The Madwoman says we are suncatchers.

We do like to sunbathe, that is true, and follow the sunny spots round the house.

But just you try dangling us in a window,
and you will learn the true meaning
of letting sleeping wippitts lie!

Recognition at last!

Finally, it would seem, our talents have been recognised.
We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by this sign yesterday as we arrived
at the Chiltern Open Air Museum for a walk.
We should point out that there seems to be a spelling error though - there are two of us,
so shouldn't that be 'small attractions' with an 's'?
We must rethink our modelling fees.

Toy time

The Madwoman says we have too many toys.
Not true.
We just need a bigger toy box.

Ribbitt ribbitt

Is there a collective noun for a whole load of frogs?
If there is, it should be a Chorus of Frogs.
They were in full song last night.
Frogs do not seem to know many songs.
After a few hundred repetitions of ribbitt, ribbitt
it stopped being charming and
started becoming a bit irritating.
Although they are still splashing around a lot,
they have at least gone quiet now, so we're
seizing the opportunity to catch up on lost sleep ...

Spring is sprung!

Must be Spring.
We wippitts are very in touch with
Nature and can tell these things.

First of all, look who has returned from her winter holiday in Scotland!

And then of course there was all the giveaway
activity going on at the Chiltern Open Air Museum
yesterday as the Spring cleaning team went into action ...
No, we didn't stay to help.
As serious observers of natural history
it's important that we don't interfere with it's processes.

Wet feet

As if it wasn't bad enough getting rained on
while we're out on walks, the Madwoman expects us to
wade through puddles we come across too.

Seriously? You expect us to walk through that?
Do you have any idea how deep it is?
No?
Then we're definitely not going through it.

Instead we will use the trailblazing skills we learned on Wednesday
and find a way around it.
First of course, we will need to find a tree with moss growing on it.
This way!
