Escaping into the realms of fantasy

Our adventures at the Chiltern Open Air Museum this week:

Lamp Post.
Can mean only one thing:
We're obviously in Narnia now ...
so where's the Turkish Delight?
No sign of any fauns clutching Christmas presents.
Unless you count Nessie.
Didn't spot any beavers either.
Although we did find this molehill.
Archie weed on it.
But it's OK because we don't think it was a Talking Mole.

Spring is sprung!

Must be Spring.
We wippitts are very in touch with
Nature and can tell these things.

First of all, look who has returned from her winter holiday in Scotland!

And then of course there was all the giveaway
activity going on at the Chiltern Open Air Museum
yesterday as the Spring cleaning team went into action ...
No, we didn't stay to help.
As serious observers of natural history
it's important that we don't interfere with it's processes.

The return

We were glad to see that Nessie has returned to the Chiltern Open Air Museum for her summer holidays.
She kindly agreed to pose for a close up ...

A BIG secret!

Shhhh ... now walk quietly this way and we'll let you in on a big secret ...
Nessie DOES exist!
The reason you'll never spot her lurking in some muddy loch in Scotland is
because she actually lives down here, in the much nicer pond at
the Chiltern Open Air Museum ...

And now we're off to see if we can maybe find
David Attenborough hiding in the undergrowth.
Watch this space!
