Busy, busy, busy!

It has been a busy week for us so far.

By Wednesday we were already having to snatch dognaps wherever we could.

See? We told you it was an enormous schnozzle
On Sunday we went to Bath to visit the Madwoman's horse.
He has a huge nose and ate all the carrots which we thought the Madwoman had packed as snacks for us. We're partial to a crunchy carrot. Or two.
Three is even better if a rare occurrence.

While there we checked out the Dog Friendly Garden.
Archie snooped around and chased a few tennis balls (as usual, the Madwoman hadn't packed his favourite ones - all tennis balls are equal, but some are more equal than others.)
You can read more about this over at the website HERE

Angel sulked for a bit as she wasn't allowed off the leash in case she squeezed through the gaps at the gate which she discovered. Our doggodmother Sarah Fisher wasn't there so we posed for a picture instead with Auntie Mags before having some (carrot free) lunch and heading home again.
Angel discovered this dustbin lid tethered to the fence.
Personally we prefer free range dustbins
Posing with nice Aunty Mags.
On Monday after we had done zoomies we pottered in the garden and supervised the Madwoman, who is trying to sort out our Grandma's borders. Important job, supervising. If we didn't keep the Madwoman's nose to the grindstone she'd be lolling around in the sun, getting nothing  done at all.

Seen one bluebell, you've seen them all.
Trust us on this.
On Tuesday it was off to the Chiltern Open Air Museum, where they were busy making Easter eggs out of wool, and to check on the progress of the bluebells.

On Wednesday we did zoomies in the paddocks and thought we were heading home for elevenses when the Madwoman unexpectedly took a detour and we found ourselves in the carpark at the vet's. We breathed a sigh of relief when it turned out we were only there to pick up Angel's meds and to have our monthly weigh-in.

Today, we're expecting yet more action in the shape of a visit from our Aunty Lisa Page. She says she is going to bring home-grown eggs - real ones you can eat rather than made out of wool. We like eggs. And our Aunty Lisa.

Drink to me only with thine eyes ...

As it was time for our annual health check,
we had to go see the vet about a needle this morning.
He looked at Angel and said what beautiful eyes she had.
Sometimes vets say the nicest things ...

Lean times

Starving, we are, starving. What's in this bag then? Anything to eat?

We were carted off to the vet on Monday for our annual check up and to get some wormers. We were not thrilled, although at least there were no pointy needles involved. Angel got some tasty chewable wormers, but Archie doesn't like his at all: he has mastered the art of sucking off the cheese or sausage they are hidden in and spitting out the tablet. Of course although they don't taste good, this does have the advantage that the tablet has to be inserted into yet another tasty treat intended to disguise it, and so on, until the tablet eventually disappears ... It's a good game although not one that the Madwoman appears to enjoy. The extra calories are gratefully received though, as the bad news from the vet was that we are both a trifle overweight. Consequently we are now on diets and being encouraged to participate in all sorts of calorie burning games. Please send emergency food parcels as soon as possible - in a discreet brown wrapper of course, so the Madwoman doesn't guess ...

Scrobbled!

Waiting under my fleece for a

bit of TLC ...

Archie got scrobbled by a cat yesterday ... while harmlessly pottering around outside, enjoying the sunshine and a nibble of grass he was ambushed by an evil kitty which leapt into the garden on top of him. Covered in bites and scratches and hobbling around on three legs after the close encounter, he had to be whisked off to the emergency vets for antibiotics and an eye check. The Madwoman had to go back again later for painkillers and anti-inflams as he was in so much pain from his lame leg, which had also become really swollen and tender by this time. It hurt so much in fact, that he took to the sofa and refused his dinner. Angel did offer to eat it for him, but wasn't allowed to. Off to our regular vet this morning, where he had a much more sympathetic reception as well as more drugs, and is feeling much better as a result.

Too much to expect get any well wishes or treats we suppose after the total lack of them when Angel got bitten by a bee - but maybe you'd like to join our campaign to rid the world of evil kitties?
