Partaaaaaaaay!

Well, nearly.
It is Angel's birthday tomorrow.
The Madwoman has been out and bought presents
(we saw her hiding them)
and has cooked some turkey
(we supervised her doing it)
and soon we will be going for a walk at Chiltern Open Air Museum,
where she has promised to buy us our traditional birthday muffin (too lazy to bake it herself)
We'll try and get her to take some pictures of the celebrations to post next week,
although you've seen what she's like with a camera, so don't hold your breath ...
Waiting for my birthday to start.
Hurry up.

Partaaaay! - again!

This week it was Archie's turn for a birthday - 11years old, but still not too old for a bit of a party.
The Madwoman was feeling a bit under the weather, but she managed to totter out for a stroll with us around Chiltern Open Air Museum, and then there was turkey, and of course, presents! This made Angel very happy too, as she has been waiting to get hers
since her birthday last week.
Getting to grips with opening my birthday card.

Partaaaaaay!

It was Angel's birthday at the weekend - 9 years old on Saturday!
There were walks
Looking at the tiny people at the Open Air Museum
One accidental gulp ...
and games
and cuddles
a toybox changeover

Yeah, but where's my NEW present?
and even turkey ...

Looking gorgeous. And waiting for the next round of celebrations.
I'm told there will be blueberry muffins too ...
Next weekend it is Archie's 11th birthday., which is when we both get the presents that
the Madwoman has been hiding in the cupboard.
She thinks we don't know about them, but we do. Oh yes we do ...

Getting festive

Off to the Chiltern Open Air Museum this morning
for their annual traditional Chilterns Christmas.
We were a bit uncertain about this lot at first ...

But then they introduced themselves and we found they weren't really scary.
In case you're wondering like we were, they are mummers.
They did little plays.
Lots of fighting and declaiming
- and quite a lot of prompting when they forgot their words too.

A bit further along we came across this worrying sight.
Santa's sledge.
We straightaway noticed that the reindeer were missing.
And our presents.
And if you look very carefully you can see a cow lurking in that
barn. It's new. There's a competition to name it and the other
one which is being even more shy.
We suggested Rex and Rover.

Wrapping

When we have birthdays, both of us get presents.
Quite right too.
This is Angel unwrapping hers on Archie's birthday last Saturday.
Blink and you'll miss it!

Angel has a birthday!

It was Angel's birthday yesterday - eight years old!
We started off with a walk in the paddocks that the Madwoman hires
for us to do zoomies in - the perfect place to play some party games.
There was our version of Pigs in Blankets (piece of sossige rolled in a towel)

Then we played Squeak, Bunny Squeak (run to stuffed bunny,
make it squeak then toss it in the air
and run back to the Madwoman for more sossige.
No, of course we don't bring it back.
We are wippitts, not Labradors!

And there was a treasure hunt - finding treats hidden
under these sports training cones.

Then home again for some elevenses and birthday cake:
the birthday blueberry muffin has become a tradition.
Although the Madwoman insisted that we let her share it,
and because her mouth is much bigger than ours,
that meant she got the biggest bit ... typical ...

And then presents!

Turkey for dinner in the evening.

Followed by a nap ...
Not a bad day.
Wonder what we're doing tomorrow?

And the fun goes on ...

And this is what we got on Boxing Day!

A honking duck!

Just what I wanted!

What is it?

I have no idea ... it blends in with the fleece on the sofa ... but unlike the sofa, it squeaks ...

Ah, that's better ... it's a skunk!

More birthday celebrations!

Yesterday it was Archie's turn to have a birthday.

First of all, there was a card to be opened from our Great uncle and his dog Sophie, all the way from America. We had to share it - it was Angel's birthday last week.
After carefully checking there wasn't any turkey hidden inside, we put it on display on the mantelpiece.

We went for a birthday run in the morning, then for another, more leisurely birthday walk in the afternoon. The Madwoman thought it would be entertaining to wander round the Chiltern Open Air Museum, where they were revving up for their annual Halloween Spooktacular evening. But you can read more about what we saw there next week on the 31st!

We did find some very spooky toadstools too ...

And then it was time for presents!
Angel had one too - it was her present from last week wrapped up again. The Madwoman is such a cheapskate.

I got a squeaky stuffed cow.

Angel was quite happy to be reunited with her squeaky raccoon, which had mysteriously gone missing the day after her birthday. And now we know why ...

And at last - the birthday dinner.
Yes, we had turkey!
